This project was about autonomous behavior; how you can create it and how it works. The task was to create a ‘robot’ that shows some sort of autonomous behavior, acting using very basic rules and information from the environment. We created a device called “The Little Dancer”. It is a small robot that wants to dance. It will listen to music and then start dancing to the beat. It turns on the higher beats and open it’s mouth on the lower beats. It showed some very interesting but mostly fun behavior. Inspiration came from a little girl dancing on dance music. The movie below shows the robot in action.
